Try Something New!


One aspect about being a professional coach is all the self learning that transpires.

The client isn’t the only one who learns.

For instance, I’ve learned when I am BS’ing myself!

That isn’t the technical coach language but you get the picture!

For instance, I’ve realized for awhile the need to step up the cardio aspect of my exercise program. I spent 16 yrs in my first profession as a physical therapist so I am certain of this!

Running/Jogging is one great way to answer this need.

Here comes the BS, all the reasons I CANNOT run:

1. Major spinal surgery…..(16 yrs ago!)

2.  A crappy right knee

3. I won’t bore you with the rest of the list!

I have motivation for this goal. Each one of my immediate family members runs, including the dog. I love the idea of running a 5K with them.

A girlfriend completed her 50th formal run and she has plenty of physical excuses. She doesn’t use one of them.

So, I figured I’d try.

Starting at the beginning is not one of my strengths.

I started at the beginning.

Hah! Guess what?

I’m running and it feels fine!

One of my goals in 2014 is to begin running 5K’s.
